Renzetti Traveler 2200 Fly Tying Vise

Options:

$264.99

It's difficult to improve on a classic, but the most visible change is the anodizing of all aluminum parts, which ensures a longer lasting finish to the vise. A 7" stem on the base adds more comfort for the tyer, a larger base aads more balance and a polyurethane O-ring on the jaws adds longer wear to your tying experience.

The Renzetti Traveler 2200 Series fly tying vises represent one of the best values there is in a quality rotary vise. The original Traveler vise was introduced in 1988 and is still available today....but the 2200 takes it up a notch.

The jaws on this are excellent! They are super easy to adjust and have a nice slim profile that allows access to smaller hooks. Plus they hold hooks like a champ. Rotation is smooth and the pedestal is stable. Great vise!

I moved a few years ago and lost my vise, but only recently discovered that when I started looking. Bummer. So . . . I researched new vises for 4 weeks. Mad River had a great review of several vises, but their thorough review of this one pushed me to order. I have been very pleased with this vise. I have tested hooks from #18 to 5/0. You will BEND a hook before it pops out of this vise. The Renzetti Traveler 2200 is everything I'll need for my tying, and I tie fairly small trout flies up to 4/0 pike flies. I strongly considered other quality vises, but as for my wide-range of flies and hook sizes, this one stood out for a $200 price point. Finally, I chose Mad River because they did such a great job on their videos, and while I could have purchased this vise in a lot of places, these videos, and their work, should be rewarded. I'll be a return customer. Tight lines - Steve
