Galloup's B.H. UV Caddis Pupa

Galloup's Bead Head UV Caddis Pupa is a stupidly simple pattern, but has quickly become one of our favorites. In tyically Galloup fashion, Kelly has taken the caddis pupa to a new level, as he does with most flies he invents.

This fly uses UV Ice Dub to imitate the emerging pupa body. It gives just the right amount of "glow" and translucency under the water. A collar or pine squirrel rounds it off to make and excellent caddis pupa pattern. This one doesn't look like much in the fly bin, nor does it photograph well, but it comes alive in the water!!! Typical attributes of a really great fly pattern.

This is the bead head version which we use for both bottom bouncing and "Leisenring Lifting" at the end of the drift. Makes for a great point fly on a multi-fly rig. When the caddis are really popping, fish this one with the non-bead version behind it. Deadly.
