Jason Yeager's Green Drake Nymph is one that we have been playing around with both East and West and have finally found it a place in the rotation here in the shop. It's turned out to be a great fly for us and has produced some really nice fish.
Although theoretically a Western Green Drake, and of course it works well to imitate that particular bug, we have been using it around these parts in the East with great success. It's just a sexy, buggy looking nymph that flat out catches fish. Of course it's a pretty big meal as far as nymphs go, but part of the secret may be that it gets down quick. Pretty heavily weighted underbody and a black bead at the front gets it right down where it needs to be. A great point fly on a multi-fly "searching" rig.
