George Harvey Custom Dry Fly Leaders- Original

Man are we thrilled to be offeing these custom, George Harvey Dry Fly Leaders. Hand tied right here in Columbus, Ohio by a great friend and customer. They are sold here in the standard 11' length and with 4X, 5X or 6X tippets.

The George Harvey formula has set the standard in dry fly leaders for years now. This is the original formula that was originally published in his book "Techniques for Fly Fishing and Fly Tying". This one features Maxima Chameleon in the butt and mid sections, then steps down to Maxima Ultragreen for the tippet and last two taper sections. He did later change the "recipe", just before he died in fact, and went to all Ultragreen. Many folks still do like the original formula with the stiffer Chameleon. It works especially well on larger weight lines like a 5wt, 6wt 7wt.

* Due to the stiff butt sections on these, we do not recommend these for 2wt, 3wt and 4wt rods. But.....this is America so you CAN if you want!

These leaders are hand tied right here in Columbus, Ohio. They are 11' and come with tippet attached and ready to go. They do feature a perfection loop on the butt end.
