The Soft Hackle is one of the oldest known flies, or at least style of flies. Around here, we can't say enough about soft hackles. In our estimation, they are and have always been one of the most important categories of flies that you could tie, own or fish. Combine it here with a pheasant tail nymph and you have an absolutely deadly combo.
We personally fish them every single time we trout fish. Fish as a nymph, as an emerger in or on the water- available here in the most popular sizes and colors.
