The Tiemco 105 is primarily known as an egg hook but has also gained popularity in recent years for tube flies and as a stinger hook on the back of articulated streamers. A great selling hook for us over the years.
Tiemco fly hooks were first made in 1984 by Tiemco's hook designer, Ken Shimazaki. It was not an auspicious time to introduce Japanese hooks to the U.S. Undeterred, Umpqua's founder, Dennis Black, one of America's greatest commercial tyers, tested these new hooks, and with a simple handshake with Tiemco's Toshi Shimoda, agreed to distribute the in the U.S. With that courageous decision, fly tying- and fly fishing- would be changed forever.
The Tiemco 105 is pretty much the quintessential egg hook. Most of our standard glo-bugs and eggs are tied on this. Also a very popular hook for hanging off tube flies and for stinger hooks on streamers. Reversed bend, straight eye, 2X strong, 5X short, forged bronze. Sizes 6-10.
Tiemco TMC 105 egg hooks sold here in the 25 packs. Please remember that if you need larger quantities, please let us know and we'll be happy to help.
