Whit's Bright Spot Sponge Spider has been a staple around here for years and years now. Leave it to Dave Whitlock to improve on this staple fly. Sponge spiders are pretty basic flies....but bluegill slayers eh? We also use this fly extensively as a beetle pattern as well.
Really cool looking, Whit's Sponge Spider. Buggy eyes, chartreuse, grizzly rubber legs. Even a weed guard on this one which can easily be clipped off if you don't want. Did we mention it was chartreuse on the underside? Bright foam spot on top for visibility. Sure to catch tons of fishermen but with Dave's patterns we know they catch fish also.
